Teri and Bill on Rick Steves' My Way Italy Tour Sept. 2013
Late afternoon sunlight on the Bridge of Sighs, which leads from the Doges Palace to the jail. So named because the prisoners must have sighed when they had their last look at Venice before entering an uncertain future in prison.
Beautiful sculpture on the corner of the Doges Palace near the Bridge of Sighs.
Bill dubbed this the Bridge of "Thighs" because it was always crowded with people climbing up to look at the Bridge of Sighs.
View of the Bridge of "Thighs" from the Bridge of Sighs. In the distance is San Georgio Maggiore across the lagoon.
